Wishing all of you a very happy, healthy, and prosperous year
Lots of good friends and good food
Chinese New year is nian gao or kue keranjang,
a sweet and sticky kue.
By eating this kue we hope a sweet year to come
and a sticky everlasting relationship we have.
That's what I told my children
about the meaning of kue keranjang for me.
What's kue keranjang means for you?
This is my way to eat my nian gao or kue keranjang,
cut kue keranjang into small pieces,
Grate coconut, mix it with salt and steam it.
Coat kue keranjang with grated coconut.
